1. CVO Antwerpen (BE)

CVO Antwerpen is an Adult Education Centre with several campuses in and around the City of Antwerp in the Flemish region of Belgium. CVO Antwerpen is one of the largest centres for adult education certified and funded by the Flemish Government. It organizes more than 800 modular daytime and evening courses per year. These courses are clustered around:

  • Courses for immigrants (Dutch as a second language, ICT, other languages);
  • Formal Vocational Education and Training at the level of secondary education (Second Chance to Learn, potentially leading to a diploma of secondary education in the domains of general administration and multimedia graphics);
  • Higher professional education (ICT, accounting, marketing);
  • A range of language courses (French, English, Spanish, German);
  • Entrepreneurial training courses, courses in application software and cooking.


2. Associazione seed (CH) 

Associazione seed (SEED) is a social business with the form of a non-profit organization (legally, an association), located near Lugano, Switzerland and active in the field of technologies, communication and education since 2007.
Seed was born from the belief that an adequate use of ICT and e-learning technologies can make a difference in education and training initiatives in local and international cooperation and development projects: enhancing access, allowing the creation of stable networks, and improving daily working activities can be achieved if adequate capacity building is provided. SEED is currently active in local development projects in Switzerland and Northern Italy, and also abroad (including Ecuador, Brasil and Macedonia). Such projects are based on entrepreneurship, digital storytelling for teachers and social workers empowerment, and capacity building. SEED was incubated in the Lugano start-up incubator, and out of that experience developed competences in entrepreneurship training, which were then exploited and refined in several local and international development projects.

3. ZIP Institute (MK)

Established in 2011, ZIP Institute is an independent, nonpartisan, public policy organization geared towards producing and disseminating high-quality, objective and comprehensive ideas and analyses central to the democratization and EU Integration of Macedonia. ZIP Institute gives voice to the democratization process in the country and the region of South Eastern Europe as a whole, and spotlights its importance in tackling the most prevalent issues facing our society with field action, including in particular training and community development actions.
ZIP Institute’s core focus lies in connecting research and analysis of local issues with field action: its activity combines the provision of evidence-based policy research with trans-formative field action.  ZIP specializes in two key areas of intervention: introducing new ways of informal education primarily among young people; and public administration and local governance research.

4. Transformando (ES)

Transformando is a non-profit social cooperative founded in 1998. We strive to enable socially-excluded individuals to successfully integrate society and the workplace.  We provide and promote the use of tools required to set up businesses that will generate incomes, encourage self-employment, increase people’s concern and participation in their surrounding environments through associations.  We also support third sector entities by helping them to better manage their organizations at an internal level as well as the completion of intervention projects in Spain and impoverished countries.

TF counts with a large experience in training and advising people at risk of exclusion in their process of business creation. Most of our beneficiaries have been migrants. The relevant experience for this partnership is the one coming from the areas of work: Micro-companies and social economy entities, Microfinance and financial education and Consultancy and training services offered to non-profit entities.

5. Govanhill Community Development Trust (UK)

The Trust is a wholly owned subsidiary of Govanhill Housing Association and was established to develop physical, social, economic and environmental regeneration initiatives additional to the mainstream housing development programmes in the Govanhill area on the south side of Glasgow.
The Trust owns leases and manages a portfolio of commercial offices and workspaces for small and medium sized enterprises and provides supported accommodation for homeless women. The Trust also provides a Factoring service to private residential and commercial proprietors. The Trust’s commercial activities support the development of community initiatives and projects which respond to identified local priorities. The Trust is engaged in a range of activities including:

  • Community Development, Empowerment and Capacity Building
  • Projects and Programmes in learning, training, education, recycling & environment, youth work, employability, addictions, community engagement
  • Working in partnership to deliver and create a range of opportunities that enable local people to improve and develop their own quality of life

6. Social Enterprise Academy (UK) 

The Social Enterprise Academy (SEA) was set up in 2004 as a social enterprise. It tailors learning and development for people working in, or towards, a leadership role in the social economy. Our leadership, enterprise, and social impact programmes encourage innovation and creativity by focusing on the participant and their personal development as an entrepreneurial leader.
The Academy delivers courses to the public, private, as well as the social economy sector – mainly in Scotland but recently we have worked within Europe and have recently started a support programme in Southern Africa.
Our activities are concentrated into three key areas: social enterprise development and start up; leadership; and social impact.  We have developed and innovative way of designing learning programmes which enable learners to explore their potential and develop their leadership and management skills in a safe, participative and supportive learning environment.  Learners will experience: Action Learning which find solutions to the issues learners face); Co-coaching (enable participants to obtain fresh insights into their work and personal development); Peer support (which consolidates the learning experience).

7. ALTIS, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (IT) 

Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, has an academic staff of 3000, administrative staff of 4765 and a total enrolment of 42,000 students within 14 faculties. The University policy follows the main directions of the national reform in higher education in full compliance with the objectives formulated in the Bologna Declaration, focusing on transparency of its curricula towards enhancement of recognition of studies and facilitate double-degree; generalisation of ECTS and its orientation towards the accumulation system; reinforcement of the internal quality assessment strategy as well as external quality arrangements. As a result of the full implementation of such a policy, UCSC has been awarded the ECTS label.

ALTIS, the Postgraduate School Business & Society of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, is an international research and education center for the study and promotion of a responsible and competitive business culture.
Founded in 2005 by Prof. Mario Molteni, Professor of Business Administration and Corporate Strategy at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, ALTIS embodies both openness towards the international world of business and the willingness to effectively serve the interests of the students and enterprises with which it interacts.

8. Centro Promozione Start-Up (CH)

Founded in 1996 and located in Lugano, Switzerland, the Università della Svizzera italiana – USI, -, is a member of the Swiss university system together with nine other cantonal universities and two Federal Institutes of Technology, Zurich and Lausanne. It is the only Italian-speaking university in Switzerland and outside the Italian borders. USI comprises four Faculties: Architecture on the Mendrisio campus; Communication Sciences, Economics, and Informatics on the Lugano campus. The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB, Bellinzona) has been affiliated to USI since 2010. With its geographical, political and cultural background USI has grown into a multilingual academic institution with great international breadth.
The Start-up Promotion Centre – CPStartUp, – is a service promoted by the Foundation for the Lugano Faculties of USI. It has been set up in 2004 in collaboration with the Scuola Universitaria Professionale della Svizzera Italiana (SUPSI), in order to assist, coach and support Swiss and foreign graduates who plan to start a company in Canton Ticino. In 2005 the CPStartUp has been equipped with the Enterprise Incubator in order to provide not only competencies but also infrastructures (working spaces, connectivity etc.). CPStartUp is actively collaborating with the Swiss federal Commission for Innovation and its consultant’s network
The Start-up Promotion Center:

  1. Serves as a focus for what already exists in Ticino to promote innovative entrepreneurial projects started by young graduates;
  2. Brings out and exploits the training, technical and management expertise there is in Ticino and, most of all, in USI and SUPSI;
  3. Uses a network of Expertise Centers which are able to provide potential new entrepreneurs with the answers to the technical, management, legal, administrative and financial questions involved in starting a new company.

9. YES Foundation (MK)

YES Foundation was established in 2005 as the first Foundation for stimulating entrepreneurship among the young people through business incubation, trainings and business plan competition in Macedonia. The aim of YES Foundation is helping young people start their own businesses, prevent the brain drain and bridging the gap among the education supply and businesses demand in terms of young people skills.
For the past years YES has supported more than 50 start-up companies that have employed around 150 employees as well implemented trainings for around 6000 young people for business and soft skills. One of the main activities of YES was creating awareness about the importance of entrepreneurship development and entrepreneurial thinking among the young people in Macedonia.
YES was established as non-for-profit Foundation employing 5 full time employees, all with Master degree in area of Project Management, Entrepreneurship and Communication. Also, the employees possess the following certificates: PMP certificates for Project Management Proficiency, GCDF (Global Career Development Facilitator), EBCL certified trainers,  Cisco Entrepreneurship Institute facilitators.
YES Foundation is certified training centre of the CISCO Entrepreneurial Institute and organizes Starting a Business courses for students at their final year of studies or young people who have ambition to start their own business. The aim of the courses is the participants to gain knowledge how to turn their idea into a profitable business. With the assistance of experienced facilitators so they would learn the basis of the business through 15 modules.


10. Fondazione Politecnico di Milano (IT)  

Fondazione Politecnico di Milano (FPM) is an Institution founded by the Politecnico di Milano, the technical University of Milan, together with many other private and public stakeholders.
FPM plays a strategic role in favoring cooperation between the Politecnico di Milano, businesses and public administration, with the twin aims of making the extensive technical/scientific knowledge of the Politecnico accessible and transferring the results of research. Particularly FPM aims at:

  1. promoting applied research, education and the dissemination of scientific culture for the development of the economic context;
  2. moving innovation to business and public administrations and fostering the creation of new enterprises;
  3. supporting the main projects of the Politecnico.

FPM is an agile and practical vehicle that opens doors to complex research for business enterprises and public administrations, develops plans and research projects, encourages and supports the development of structures and laboratories for applied research, promotes the best science and technology available, stimulates the creation and diffusion of knowledge, encourages lifelong education at a higher level, extends excellent competences.
